Goal Focus Thoughts for Today!

Create a new routine to use the time you have to accomplish the things you most want to get done.

It’s so easy to waste time and go through your day in reaction mode. From the moment you open your eyes, you start reacting to stimuli.

You react to being still tired and not ready to face the day.

Your back hurts and you have to get up right now. You notice the sunshine and think it’s going to be a beautiful day or it’s gray and going to be a gloomy day.

The reactions continue from there.

What’s on the news on TV or radio. What’s on your calendar?

What changes when the phone rings or another family member has a cough or the flu?

So far how have you used your time? If you’re like most people your time is spent in a combination of routine and reaction. You can’t always help the unexpected things you will need to react to, but you can make your routine include time for goal focus as a routine just like the routine of showering, styling your hair, having breakfast etc.

If goal focus time was part of your daily routine, you would fit it in just like all the other daily routine tasks you perform and make time for. So look at your day, maybe you need to set your alarm 15 minutes earlier to make time for a new routine in your day and or go to sleep 15 minutes later, but with this small shift in your day you now could have 30 minutes of goal focus time each day. That’s 3 ½ hours a week to work on your personal goals.

Maybe you would rather get those two 15 minute blocks from TV or social time. Wherever you find the time to make a new routine of daily goal focus is up to you. The important thing is that you make working on your goals as important as your daily habit such as showering and eating. Once you do, you will be capturing time that could have easily slipped away unutilized and you will begin to see the compounded effects of your new daily goal focus routine on your life.

Try creating a new routine that includes daily goal focus and then you can see for yourself the difference it makes.
