Florence Scovel Shinn, an early twentieth-century New Thought pioneer, teaches that life is a game we can learn to play by understanding spiritual laws.

Most people try to change their circumstances first. Shinn begins somewhere else: with the beliefs beneath those circumstances, the words we repeat without thinking, the fears we rehearse, and the intuitive opportunities we overlook.

She teaches that when we change those, our outer circumstances begin to change with them.

Principles and Key Points

This collection brings together five of Shinn’s works:

• The Game of Life and How to Play It — Introduces spiritual laws and how our thoughts, words, and actions influence the lives we experience.
• Your Word Is Your Wand — Explores the creative power of spoken words and affirmations.
• The Secret Door to Success — Emphasizes faith, expectation, non-resistance, and preparing to receive what we desire.
• The Power of the Spoken Word — Teaches how our words can influence our circumstances and help us overcome fear.
• The Magic Path of Intuition — Explores divine guidance, intuitive action, and trusting the direction of our inner wisdom.

Throughout these works, Shinn encourages us to become conscious of our thoughts, choose our words carefully, and trust our intuition.
