Often during my discovery and strategy calls and sessions, I would hear or feel energy or the lack of it as women spoke about their goals and current life.

As I questioned them and asked them to picture their future following their current goals and career path they often expressed discouragement and said that this is what they do for income or how things were but it doesn’t excite or make them feel fulfilled.

My goal then would be to work with what they told me and what I intuitively felt asking them thoughtful questions that would help them see a career and or life they would love and their energy would change when I encouraged them to envision this new path.

Viola! A new dream is created one that is full of passion, purpose, and fulfillment!

It’s exciting for both the client and me when the ah-ha happens and a new dream is born. Then the work to make the dream a reality can begin.

That’s one of the things that got me into the field of focusing on women achieving dreams as a business. The other is that while I could help everyone else discover and achieve their dreams I didn’t know what my own were. 

Once for a business training I was in, I was assigned the task of writing down my goals, things I wanted, places I wanted to go, and things I wanted to do.

My 20-something son asked me what I was working on and then asked me if he could see it.

He studied the paper I handed him and he handed it back to me with a shake of his head and said “Mom you need to dream bigger!”

 I let loose and wrote down things I wanted but knew weren’t going to happen.

Then I started looking at my excuses, and doubts, all the reasons why I thought my dreams would never become reality.

From that day on I began researching, studying, and reading everything I could on setting and achieving goals, the difference between goals and dreams, the power of having a purpose and a passion for what you do in life, understanding beliefs and the effect they have on our past, present and future life.

Eventually, I discovered my passion was helping women who much like me, spent their lives helping others achieve their dreams discover and achieve their own dreams.

(The above photo was from when I thought I wanted to be a florist. It’s a hobby I am passionate about but it was not a forever dream. Something I have learned is we can spend a lot of time chasing someone else’s dream for us or the wrong dream. I left my flowers for my dream of helping make dreams come true!)
