Two Daily Habits Will Keep You Moving Forward During this Pandemic
Two daily habits will keep you moving forward during this pandemic
Keep Focused During this Global Health Crisis
Keeping your focus on your goals and dreams on any given day is a challenge in itself. When we are faced with a worldwide health issue that incites fear and anxiety on top of the life altering shifts in our daily routines and activities makes it tremendously more challenging to maintain any kind of focus on anything but
stocking up,
for rationing supplies,
for disinfecting every surface,
phones,
keyboards
and focusing on anything else just seems impossible.
This covid 19 crisis is going to be around for a while and all the interruptions in our normal lifestyles plus the added stress and overwhelm is going to take its toll on each of us if it hasn’t already begun to derail you it has the power to do so.
While nothing is more important than our own and our families health and well-being, I think we can agree we can give the best care for others when we are being the best versions of ourselves and health crisis or non-it takes feeding our souls and doing things that energize us both mentally and physically to feel our best.
So what can we do to maintain focus on what feeds our soul gives us purpose and moves us forward on our own personal goals and dreams?
Taking a few moments to focus on self-care needs to be at the top of our list.
That might be taking a walk in fresh air or using a piece of exercise equipment or doing yoga or Pilates in our home. It might be doing a form of meditation or self-hypnosis, listening to a CD of relaxing instrumental music, calming affirmations, reading inspirational quotes of strength, triumph and faith.
In addition to these moments for self-care, make time even if it’s 15 minutes three times a day or a 30 minute block of time daily where you sit down at your desk or wherever you create and just start doing what you would do on your most productive day, pick up where you left off and move forward. Day after day these two habits will keep you feeling your best and moving forward on your goals and dreams while you deal with this crisis and care for your loved ones and people in your circle.
This pandemic will pass and when it does you will be ready to pick up the pace and achieve your goals and dreams if you practice these two habits for yourself daily. The alternative is to do what women too easily do which is to abandon your own goals and put yourself last as you care for everyone else feeding their souls and keeping them moving forward.
It’s time to remember that we help others best we make room for ourselves and our needs in our daily routine. Whether it’s normal times or times of stress and challenge like this pandemic has placed us all in we can do better when we feel better.
